Role in Marina Siertis
In charge of the sytheziser machine park. Sometimes songwhriter, sometimes spoken word artist, mostely programmer.
Musical background
My first musical memory is when I was recording songs on a tape recorder for my sister at the weekly radio show called tracks, back in the 80´s. She was hanging out with her friends and left her kid brother (me), with the instruction to press play when the music was on air and to press pause when Kaj Kindvall (the host) was talking between the songs.
My second big inspiration is the two first Pet Shop Boys albums that I still can listen to without getting tiered. (Except from It’s a Sin, that I heard too many times).
I got a synthezier, a no-midi-plastic-casio for christmas and started my first project called ART, when I was about 15. I thought that music is art and that my music was ART. This was very inspiered by Pet Shop Boys, especially my one-hit-wonder “Make you the best”. Well, I actually hope that my old demo tape is buried somewhere deap.
Next carrier move was joinig Innocentia that later on became Marina Siertis. Apart from that I have performed one live session with my solo alter ego, “Art and the Twisted Tamburines”, playing one own song and one soft cell cover.
Musical influences
Pet Shop Boys, Joy Division, New Order, Absolute Body Control, Marc Almond, Siouxie and the Banshees..... and loads of melancolic tunes of different kinds.
